Useful or interesting links
Attention !
If you want to open a link

...otherwise the link takes the place of this page
Here are some links that could interest one or the other of my visitors.
There are others well but I leave the care to the "surfer" to discover them on the way.
I hope that these sites will remain open and that the explorer won't meet before a
message of connection failure. It happens again sometimes to me, it is unpleasant
and I don't want to inflict this to others. Signal me these addresses if it happens
to you.
I will try to hold this list up to date, and to complete it if possible. For the time being,
she has lost weight compared to the beginning of the site!
Héraldic :
Heraldry and the art of
the blazon: Excellent site concerning the bases of heraldry and the blasonnement. Very
complete and pleasant to the eye.
Crest, coat of arms, heraldry or
science of the blazon: Very nice site dealing with the art of heraldry. Large collection
of French heraldry and coats of arms.
Genealogy, generalities :
Geneanet: Site where one can consult numerous
genealogies but also to elaborate his/her/its own tree, on line or by downloading the program.
Very interesting. I subscribed.
Cyndi's list: A must for everything that
concerns genealogy. With a lot of links.
Genealogy, on Fischli :
Ancient Faces :
That raises many questions and that wants to believe it knows everything. Why not to help them?
Fischli Genealogy, Fischli Family Tree, Fischli Family Crest: A "hub" with many links toward
lots of lists and statistics. It is necessary to have the time and to know a little what you're
looking for.
Myheritage: A more site
where you can create your tree. Registration is required (but free up to 250 individuals).
Meaning of Names.com:
An impressive list of links of all kinds.
Familysearch: The site
of the Mormons: Where you can find the coordinates of which have been microfilmed may be needed,
and an impressive list of Fischli of USA, Switzerland and Balkan.
Swiss history:
There I cannot indicate you a site rather than another, It depends on what you search for, the period,
the region, the facts, the actors, etc.. There are anyway some sites that could give a basis of it:
Histoire de la Suisse:
very complete but the translation from German is folkloric!
History of Switzerland: Published by the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Confederation.
Concise and comprehensive, but less than the previous. There are a lot of a lot of external links;
of what to lose us in a labyrinth of pages.
Bibliography of the Swiss history: pages of the Swiss national Library. Possibility to consult or
to download some publications (monographs or articles of magazines) appeared in Switzerland or abroad
concerning the Swiss history, from the prehistoric times to our days. It is anyway complicated to take
something, but the regulars of the libraries will certainly be at ease.
Glaris :
It is not easy to find good sites on the country for the generalities but a lot of tourist sites exist
on the other hand. I will signal:
Canton of Glaris and
New Glarus: two pages of Wikipedia,
one on the canton of Glaris, and the other on these famous places, boroughs, villages of quoted emigrants
in my site.
Canton Glarus: In German
but documented well. Presumably the official site of the canton. It deals geography, politics,
history, etc.
MySwitzerland.com: The official
site of Swiss Tourism. Basic informations and useful.
Castles of the canton of Glaris:
In closing, I would not to miss out on this pretty site with the Swiss chateaux seen from above, with
beautiful pictures and beautiful texts that accompany them. I personally know the pilot-photographer
and animator of this site.
The Internet is full of information. If you have time, go ahead, "surf", you will find many sites more or less interesting, ... to you to make your choice.
